Vega Vella Red from the winery Cornelio Dinastía in Rioja, Spain, is a delicious and vibrant organic red wine made predominantly from Tempranillo grapes. The ancient wine region Rioja, is traditionally renowned for heavy oaked, red wines, but Vega Vella Red presents a modern, fruity, spicy and easy-drinking style of wine that is easy to fall in love with. The wine is made with a low-intervention approach and is slowly fermented in steel tanks with wild yeast to preserve the natural fruity flavours and character of the grapes. Vega Vella Red has deep aromas and flavours of ripe juicy red cherries, black currant, red raspberries, leather and spicy notes of black pepper and dried herbs such as lavender, thyme and bay leaf. The wine has a refreshing acidity and ripe tannins which makes the wine easy to drink on its own as well as together with a wide variety of dishes. Enjoy it slightly chilled at 14-16 ° C with a summer barbecue, savoury dishes with red or white meat, spicy stews or charcuterie.
Cornelia Dinastía is a historical, award-winning wine estate in Rioja Alavesa in the eastern part of Rioja in Spain, that passionately produces high-quality wines with the deepest respect of nature. The philosophy at Cornelio Dinastía is that excellent wines are created from the best raw material combined with the best wine making processes. The vines, which can be up to 60 years old, exclusively get natural treatments and all work the vineyards are carried out by hand. In the cellar the wine maker works with traditional, low-intervention methods combined with modern monitoring techniques and up-to-date science, with the aim of letting the wines evolve peacefully and carefully without unnecessary interference. The estate´s vineyards are divided in twenty microplots at the foothills of the mountains Sierra de Toloño and Sierra de Cantabria, and each plot has its unique orientation, altitude and geological composition. These excellent locations give Cornelio Dinastía a unique opportunity to demonstrate the different expressions of the Rioja region.
The Vega Vella series is one of newer projects of the estate and presents a wide range of wines with organic certification. The Vega Vella vineyards have been cultivated organically for almost 30 years in the continental mediterranean climate of Rioja Alavesa in eastern Rioja, which is perfect for organic cultivation. The vineyards have clay-calcareous soils with marls and alluvial stones, and the high altitude of 400 to 500 meters above sea level with huge differences between day-and night temperatures, creates wines with great freshness.
